The Circle of history and archeology of Alsace North (CHAAN) was founded in 1972. It is open to anyone interested in the history of Alsace North. The geographic area is, in essence, to the old district of Wissembourg, limited by the County of Hanau to the west, the Vosges and North Lauter north, the Rhine to the east, and the forest of the Haguenau south. It is distributed to members subscribers, but is also available for sale in bookstores or various press houses of Lower Rhine. The committee Circle Roughly fifteen members.
